I had the pleasure and elation of seeing Pete Way at a small bar in Illinois. We came early, my wife and I. My wife was so sick of hearing about how great
that Pete was and the beauty of some of the Obsession LP. I am a big Schenker fan but recognized that Pete wrote these songs. One More for the Rodeo, I Aint no
Baby etc. These songs make the hair on my arms stand up! And when you listen its Pete!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow not to wax poetic, but Pete was helping to carry in some of the bands gear,...

Saw Ozzy at Leeds Queens Hall way back on 16th December 1982 on the Talk of the Devil Tour. Brad Gillis on guitar, Tommy Aldridge on drums and Pete Way on bass. Pete was only playing with Ozzy for the British Tour but looked to be having a ball. It was the full Diary of a Madman stage show with a massive castle backdrop and the hanging of the midget, "Ronnie". Ozzy had recently shaved his head bald and it was just growing back, he looked like a skin-head. I was sorry to see Pete...

I'm back!!! It's been quite a while since I've been able to post; there was some sort of system error whenever I went on but now I finally have a home computer so hopefully this won't be a problem! I saw UFO on November 19th here in the Bay Area. Although Pete wasn't there, it was a great gig. My wife and I were right at the front of the stage; she was leaning on Phil Mogg's monitors! The band was FANTASTIC, although who didn't know that, huh? There was a bit of a problem for us at first,...

Hey all. Just back home from a boozy evening in Glasgow, and ready to post some brief reviews of the UK dates I have attended.

Manchester Apollo isn't really an ideal place for a rock gig, as it is a seated venue which can work against a rocking crowd. Spike, the singer of support act the Quireboys, had a hard task getting the seated crowd to show any enthusiam until the final few numbers of their set. More people gathered around the front of the stage in the wait for UFO, and when the...

Ya' know, I recently realized that I've never posted MY first Pete Way concert. It was, of course, a UFO show in 1982, at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium. Aldo Nova and Stranger opened the show. I was 16 at the time, and when we got in I bought my first UFO concert T-shirt, size medium (I was only about 140 pounds back then. Now I stretch out an X-Large shirt!). Stranger came out and kicked ass!!! They were like early Van Halen with a better lead singer, that's the only way I can describe...

Athens, 28 February 2004: Rodon Concert Hll, Athens

It is not just about a great concert… it is something deeper. Like many others, I have been a UFO die-heart fan for a lifetime… in my case, as of 1973. My God, it has been 30 years since I have first heard Doctor Doctor! This evening in Athens, I have felt proud of this group. To cut a long story short, the new line-up works fine, the selection of songs was excellent, the concert was full of energy and sentiments.
I say, we grow...

Back in 1987, I played bass in a Bay Area band called Wasted Angel. I heard Waysted was playing The Stone in San Francisco, so our drummer and I decided to catch the gig. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, that this was the last gig (at least in the States) that Waysted ever played. The crowd (all 60 or so of us) was chanting for Paul Chapman; we were all surprised to see an 18 year old kid on guitar! The band rocked, but what shocked my drummer Dave and I was that when Pete started playing...

Here's a little Pete Way anecdote from over on the DRG Forum, from a fella called Hughsie in Glasgow. Somehow, we'd got into a discussion about Pete being Mr. Rocknroll, and he wrote this.....

...."Which brings me to a random, almost completely off-topic Pete Way and Chasar story I thought I might share. As some of you will know from my incessant posts on the subject, Chasar was one of Scotland's main contributors to the NWOBHM, featuring the mighty Alec Pollock on guitar. They...
